There are currently three open positions available at Dover Township:

Zoning Officer

Dover Township, York County (population 21,000+) is currently accepting applications for Zoning Officer.  This position is a senior level position that supervises the Permit Enforcement Officer in performance of job duties and responsibilities; reviews subdivision and land development plans to determine compatibility with Township planning goals for community development; enforces Township zoning ordinances; examines and processes applications for permits, conducts on-site inspections, and attends Board of Supervisor, Zoning Hearing Board and Planning Commission meetings.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Planning or other related fields with related experience is required.  Possession of a Pennsylvania Driver’s License is required, and a Building Code Official Certification is desired.

Sewer Maintenance & Repair Worker III

Dover Township York County PA

Dover Township in York County is now accepting applications for an entry level Sewer Maintenance and Repair Worker III position. A valid Commercial Driver’s License is also required or must be obtained within six months of employment.  Knowledge of sanitary sewer lines maintenance practices and procedures is desired. Plant Operator Trainee

Dover Township York County PA

Dover Township (Population 21,000+) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Plant Operator Trainee to work at the Township’s Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. The ideal candidate is required to have a high school education or GED and 3 to 5 years’ experience in wastewater treatment or a related field. College/Technical courses may be substituted for experience. Under supervision and direction of a Certified Operator, the Incumbent will perform routine operational/maintenance tasks and perform laboratory tests under direction. Work schedules are frequently irregular and may require twenty-four hour on call status, including weekends and holidays.

The successful candidate will have general knowledge of the wastewater treatment process and equipment such as blowers, pumps, and motors. The candidate will also be required to obtain a mandatory PA DEP Certification within 3 years from date of hire.
