A portion of Butter Road, between Main St and N. Queen St, within Dover Borough, will be closed from September 9, 2025 through September 17, 2025. Please see the detour map below and please plan an alternate route during this time.

Detour map for Butter Road closure in Dover Borough. Butter Road is closed between Main Street and North Queen Street. Barricades and “Road Closed” signs are placed at both ends of Butter Road and at the intersections with Locust Street and City Hall Drive. Detour signs direct traffic around the closure: Westbound traffic from Queen Street is rerouted south on City Hall Drive, west on Canal Road, and back to Main Street. Eastbound traffic from Main Street is rerouted via Canal Road to City Hall Drive and back to Queen Street. Additional detour and “Road Closed Ahead” warning signs are placed along Main Street, Canal Road, and Queen Street to guide drivers. A legend at the bottom of the map shows all sign types, including detour arrows, road closed markers, and “Local Traffic Only” notices.
