Street Obstructions & Overhanging Tree Limbs & Shrubs

Street obstructions can cause safety issues, impacting the lane of travel for motorists and first responders. Some of the street obstructions have been defined as the following:

• Basketball nets/hockey goals within street right-of-way
• Dumpsters/storage containers illegally parked on the street
• Mulch/construction materials/grass clippings placed on public streets
• Unattached trailers parked in the street

Overgrown trees can block sight at intersections and overhang traffic signs, impairing one’s ability to see oncoming traffic or possibly a stop sign. A detailed diagram for tree maintenance has been included below for reference.

Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists need a safe, unobstructed way to navigate the streets of Dover Township while delivery trucks, tractor trailers, and RV’s need an unobstructed lane of travel free of overhanging limbs.
