Halloween in the Park

Dover Township Recreation hosted Halloween in the Park at Lehr Park on October 26th.  Families of children with special needs were invited to come to the event at 2pm.  Official opening time was 3pm.  Families could vote for their favorite “Trunk or Treat” display.  Almost 400 votes were counted!  The Golden Pumpkin winner (overall favorite) and first place went to 5 – Little Red Riding Hood.  Second place went to 15 – Jumping Witch.  Third place was 2 – Toy Story.  Business/Organization Awards:  Most Original went to 9 – Self Defense Academy for their obstacle course.  Cutest and Scariest BOTH went to 4 – Weigelstown Child Care.

Halloween in the Park also featured face painting, caricatures, balloon creations, magic shows, and Grandpop Bubbles.  Over 1,000 people braved the spritzing rain to attend this event.  Thank you to the volunteers from Dover Women of Today, Dover Area High School and local community members who helped.  If you or your business are interested in participating in our 2020 event, please contact Chalet at charris@dovertownship.org.
